Spermidine Supplement Reviews
If you look for spermidine supplements on Amazon you will be pleasantly surprised by the number of companies selling a spermidine supplements.
At the same time, I’m a big promoter of NOT buying supplements on Amazon. Dietary supplements are notorious for being the most corruptable products sold on Amazon with a high likelihood of receiving a counterfeit product.16FDA, FDA Warns Consumers to Avoid Certain Male Enhancement and Weight Loss Products Sold Through Amazon, eBay and Other Retailers Due to Hidden, Potentially Dangerous Drug Ingredients FDA.2020
There are many reasons for this which I cover in my post all about buying supplements on Amazon.
Many of these companies also sell many other supplements in addition to spermidine.
This means they are manufactured at scale and that typically requires shortcuts to be taken.
These shortcuts involve using harmful additives, preservatives, and excipients that denature the final product and diminish its effectiveness.
My top 2 spermidine choices, Primeadine and Spermidine Life, exclusively manufacture spermidine which is integral to their high efficacy.
Spermidine Supplement Dosage
Most spermidine supplements recommend 800-900mg of spermidine-rich wheat germ per day. This comes out to around 1mg of pure spermidine.

Spermidine Safety, Toxicity, and Side Effects
Spermidine oral supplements are considered generally safe with no serious adverse side effects.18Claudia Schwarz, Slaven Stekovic, Miranka Wirth, et al, Safety and tolerability of spermidine supplementation in mice and older adults with subjective cognitive decline Aging (Albany NY). 2018
The studied lethal dose in rats is 620 mg/kg through the injection cannot be replicated with the available spermidine treatments.19T Sakurada, K Onodera, T Tadano, K Kisara, Effects of polyamines on the central nervous system Jpn J Pharmacol. 1975
Spermidine and Gluten
Because spermidine is sourced mainly from wheat germ there is a small amount of gluten present. According to Spermidine Life, their spermidine contains 1.36mg of gluten per recommended dose.
To give some perspective a 1 oz slice of white bread contains over 3500mg of gluten.20T Sakurada, K Onodera, T Tadano, K Kisara, Effects of polyamines on the central nervous system Jpn J Pharmacol. 1975
Consult your physician if you have a specific gluten allergy, sensitivity, or celiac.. Otherwise, most people will not be affected by this.
My Personal Spermidine Experience
Let me preface this review with the fact that with spermidine, you don’t feel anything.
You won’t get a buzz or feel a jolt of energy or a wave of relaxation. You will feel the same as you always do.
There’s no way to track longevity and autophagy without geeking out hard-on blood tests and specific measurements, and still, you can’t be sure of the outcome.
In lieu of overcomplicating things, I use my Oura ring and Lumen Metabolism tracker to track progress and see how my body reacts to spermidine.
I recently used Primeadine for a few months and experienced boosts in sleep and readiness scores on the Oura.
This means my body is adapting well to stress, which indicates that my cells are working efficiently and keeping inflammation low.
The Lumen also shows better metabolic flexibility, which would be a strong indicator of autophagy and improved cellular health.
I take 1 pill 4x/a week in the morning with breakfast.
This is 1/3 of the recommended dose of 1mg Spermidine and 900mg concentrated wheat germ.
Conclusion
I highly recommend Spermidine.
As the evidence shows there is a ton of upside and very little downside.
Like all other supplements, quality is king, and Primeadine and Spermidine Life wear the crowns.
I can’t emphasize enough how crucial it is to not buy a cheaper alternative. Either of these 2 brands will deliver the benefits you want and that’s the whole point of taking Spermidine in the first place.
